More from Barton – local boats, 24th May 2009

Whilst out with my friend Ian Ruston on DC, his Lynx 14, which I was using as a stable (sort of) photographic vantage point we were lucky enough to see the Norfolk Punts racing. These are gorgeous boats – some dating back many years but it was apparent that no respect for age exists here – these are racing machines and are used as such

 Shortly after the above snap was grabbed Snark suffered from the gusty wind and reinforced my suspicion that sailing is not for me. The sequence below shows the event unfolding, unfortunately we were hit by the same gust so keeping the camera steady was a trifle difficult

The crew seemed to be well versed in recovery procedure, very quickly Snark was upright and sailing again.
